As I have said, I am a lunaphile. I got up early last January (2018) to watch and paint this full moon eclipse. One thing I like about full-moon eclipses is that the top of the moon, the part that is in the shadow, seems to get swallowed up by the sky. You cannot really discern the edge of the moon. And then that blackness fades into the deep red of the blood moon. So cool! Eclipse moon is my attempt to capture that compelling shadow created by the earth, as it lines up between the Sun and Moon in the sky.
