MCM Celebration celebrates the Mid-Century Modern aesthetic in a fun and jovial holiday ornament. We used blue, green, and silver artisanal paper for MCM Celebration evocative of desert motels found on Route 66.
The Saguaro, an Arizona icon, is a stand-in for the traditional Christmas tree for a desert-festive appeal.
This year we worked on bringing layers of wood into 3 dimensions. For this classic ornament, we combine 6 hand-drawn panels into a hexagonal configuration to complete an airy, yet durable, 3-D ornament. We paid homage to a vintage design reminiscent of 1950’s glass ornaments.
These Liquiterra ornaments are hand-drawn to reinforce their authentic beauty. First, we adhere the hand-made paper to baltic birch wood and then cut out the panels on our laser cutter. Then we hand assemble the 6 panels into the 3-D configuration and glue them for durability. These ornaments are light but strong.
Hand-made in the USA.
